"Set-on" type Size on Size Holes have gaps in the gutter
There are two types of "size on size" fittings. "Set On" and "Inner Edge Fit". When cutting holes with diameters that are nearly the diameter of the pipe, you should limit the negative bevel so that the torch does not overburn through the gutter of the hole. You can set the default negative bevel limit for holes in Settings-->Default Cut Values-->Hole-->Negative Bevel Limit.
Size on Size--Set On
This more common type of size on size fitting is where the hole is the size of the inner diameter of the set-on pipe. Here are the settings for this type of fitting.

Size On Size--inner edge fit
This type of size on size fits the inner edge of the hole to the inner edge of the saddle. Please the PypeServer training video "Size on Size Saddles and Holes".
To cut a size on size saddle and hole:
- Check the Size on Size checkbox for both hole and saddle
- To create a bevel in the gutter of the hole where the toe of the saddle sets, set each cut with half of the desired bevel. For example, for a 30 degree bevel, set both hole and saddle bevels to 15 degrees. Note that a torch with a 45 degree bevel limit will cut a flush-fit where the high-point of the hole connects with the heel of the saddle. If your torch cuts less than 45 degrees, you can wither grind the remaining metal to get a flush fit, or you can check the "No Grind" feature to move the torch to the outer edge when the torch limits. This will reduce grinding, but will result in an undercut. The "No Grind" feature for saddles is only available when the Size on Size cut feature is checked.
To get a good fit for these cuts the machine must be accurately tuned, and you must give accurate actual dimensions of the pipe (outer diameter and wall thickness).
- Torch should be center over the pipe
- If your torch head spins (such as about an A axis), then the torch must not spin out of round. In some cases, PypeServer can factor that out if it's off.
- Torch should be able to bevel 45 degrees so as to make the tops of the hole and the heels of the saddle fit.
- Pivot height set right
- Kerf correct
- Torch beam divergence set correctly
- Feedrates correct so you don't overburn.
