STEP file Generation and Import - Best Practices
When importing STEP files, following guidelines will ensure a clean import and cut part.
Design parts to look and measure exactly like you would want them cut.
- Make sure your mate pipe (header) saddle intersections set-on or penetrate the run pipe to the desired depths.
Design parts that contain an inner and outer cylinder, from which holes and ends are cut.
- Do not create sections of parts and expect them to be joined.
Do not include edges that a profiler cannot cut.
- Do not create bevel cuts that exceed the machine's bevel capabilities
- If there are import problems, confirm the STEP file is accurate using the free online STEP viewers such as those provided by Autodesk Viewer or OnShape.
